Description/Job Summary

SBD is looking for a talented Senior ETL Developer to join our team in support of our federal Health IT customer, working on a migration from Informatica to Talend. The candidate’s responsibilities will include:

  • Analyze and translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Collaborate with technical leads, architects, subject matter experts, developers, technical support groups and test teams to deliver value to the business
  • Develop and deliver ETL solutions as specified in the design, functional and non-functional requirements
  • Develop SQL scripts and procedures
  • Perform unit testing of Talend processes and document test results when needed
  • Correct testing defects and support all testing, including: System Testing, User Acceptance Testing, End-to-End Testing, and Performance Testing
  • Perform troubleshooting on Talend applications and Identify issues and opportunities to optimize performance
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of design, implementation, and ETL processes related to Talend system
  • Participate in code reviews and module release audit checks
  • ETL applications production support
  • ETL server maintenance support

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of ETL experience using a data integration tool like Informatica or Talend
  • 4+ years of ETL tool administration for Informatica, Abigoa, or Talend preferred
  • 3+ years of navigating Linux (installing tools, navigation, file editing, permissions, ssh)
  • Strong experience in Design, Develop, Test, Implement and Troubleshoot ETL jobs or workflows (Informatica or Talend)
  • Experience working with converting relational data to other formats like JSON, XML, Flat files etc. and vice versa
  • Strong database experience especially with Microsoft SQL Server preferred, MySQL, Postgres and writing complex SQL’s, PL/SQL and Performance tuning.
  • Experience performance tuning SQL, and ETL tool (Informatica, or Talend preferred) jobs
  • Experience with generating large amounts of test data using an ETL tool (Informatica, or Talend preferred)
  • Experience using data modeling tools like ERWIN or ER Studio
  • Experience using GIT
  • Experience with CI/CD especially as it relates to the ETL tool
  • Be able to perform in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent analytical and multitasking skills
  • Be able to work collaboratively as well as independently
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • All applicants must have lived in the United States for at least 3 of the last 5 years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing with Talend
  • Prior experience coding with Java
  • Prior experience with scripting (Python, JavaScript, Shell (Linux or Windows))
  • Jasper Reporting experience
